With a successful real estate career spanning fifteen years in both sales and managerial roles, Darryl has recently partnered with Nic Goodman.
Meet Darryl and Nic of New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty. This energetic, experienced pair are property specialists, with the broadest and deepest knowledge of the Havelock North, lifestyle and coastal market in Hawke’s Bay.
With 20 years of combined practical experience, they – quite simply – love to achieve amazing results for their vendors, and that passion for property is reflected in their many awards and accolades. In 2017 they were both recognised as two of the top three agents for Sotheby’s International Realty in Hawke’s Bay.
However, they each recognise that certificates on the wall mean very little when compared to the importance of building open relationships with clients and finding relevant solutions to their needs.
Darryl is a born negotiator, whose sound knowledge of real estate includes extensive real estate management experience. It’s his awareness of changing values and trends that makes him ideally placed to bring your property to the market. “I enjoy my partnership with Nic,” he says, “because while she is the expert at guiding us into a strong client-agent relationship, is diligent and organised, and a fantastic communicator, I’m practiced at closing the best possible deal. I’m focused on performance, which means utilising all of my negotiation skills and spearheading a seamless transaction.”
Nic, who was raised on a Central Hawke’s Bay farm and educated at Lincoln University, says she relishes finding creative solutions to her Vendors’ challenges. “We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach,” she says. “Rather, we look at each property’s unique qualities, we talk to our clients about why they’re selling and what motivates them, and we tailor our campaign to fit their specific needs.”
Both Darryl and Nic believe that the secret to success in the fast-paced Hawke’s Bay property market is twofold: it relies on picking a strong and successful real estate brand, and a strong salesperson within that brand. They are also advocates of honest, clear and consistent communication and work hard to make sure their Vendors and buyers are informed at every stage of the sales process.
