Queenstown International Marathon & Half Marathon
Flat out beautiful – the Air New Zealand Queenstown International Marathon and New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty Half Marathon takes runners through the best highlights Queenstown has to offer. Winding past the inspiring Remarkables mountains and the Crown Range, the course is made up of 70% hard-packed trails and 30% on-road surfaces with a primarily flat gradient. After the race, runners and spectators can soak up the atmosphere in the event finish area – complete with local food and beverage vendors, live music, and post-race massages. 2018 marks the fifth anniversary of this outstanding community event beloved by runners and spectators alike. A portion of every entry fee is allocated towards a $30,000 donation to the Queenstown Trails Trust for the maintenance of the Wakatipu Basin’s stunning trail network.

Seasonal Farmers Markets
From mid-Spring to Autumn, you can find fresh local produce, organic foods and healthy treats at one of Queenstown’s weekly farmers markets. On Saturdays, head over to the Remarkables Park Red Barn where you’ll find an array of Central Otago meats and cheeses, seasonal produce, locally roasted coffee, and sustainable gifts and homewares. If you’re more of a Sunday shopper, make a quick trip to historical Arrowtown and stock up on locally-grown fruit and veg, freshly baked bread and even a cheeky seasonal blackberry pie!

Motatapu 2019
Motatapu is New Zealand's iconic multi-sport off-road event, set in the spectacular Wakatipu and Wanaka high country. Each year, thousands flock to this bucket-list off-road event – from novice punters to elite athletes – for a chance to walk, bike and run through stunning private trails not typically open to the public. The event includes the below six different races:

Mountain bike – 47km solo or in a team of two
Ultra-run – 51km solo or as a team
Off-road marathon – 42km walk/run
Sawpit trail run – 8.5km walk/run
Miners trail – 15km walk/run
Triathlon – 2km swim, 47km bike, 8.5km run solo or as a team

Motatapu is a hugely enjoyable and social event, famous for its relaxed southern vibe and a chance to spend time in Queenstown’s pristine surroundings.

Pioneer Mountain Bike Stage Race
A truly pioneering race – the third edition of The Pioneer Mountain Bike Stage Race through New Zealand’s Southern Alps is a feat of endurance and an epic tour through Queenstown’s high country. It involves six incredible days of racing that links together the best back country riding in the South Island. Many riders push themselves to their limits, but the rewards and comradery of this race are unmatched!
