The renowned typographer Catherine Griffiths envisioned this unique element, proposing to "wrap the house in literature." Commissioned to write a poem for the house, New Zealand's award-winning Poet Laureate, Jenny Bornholdt, created a piece that is sandblasted onto the glass, literally wrapping the house in literature. The artwork is viewed from inside the house looking out, allowing the poem to be read from any point where the glass is seen. From the outside, the work becomes abstract, textural, and visually dynamic. Light plays a lively part by casting shadows of the typography onto other surfaces both inside and out, creating a moving artwork that changes throughout the day.
