NZSIR National Agent Networking Event 2026

Celebrating Our Talented People.

At the recent New Zealand Sotheby International Realty National Agent Networking Event in Auckland, we celebrated the talented people who had an extraordinary year.

From first-year agents to decade-long performers and talented teams, the breadth of recognition across the day reflected how our reputation is underpinned by people who care about the craft, their clients, and our brand.

#1 in New Zealand: Patrick McAteer and Suzanne Browne

Topping the national rankings for 2025 is the Ponsonby-based partnership of Patrick McAteer and Suzanne Browne - NZSIR’s number one team in the country.

Their year included navigating the highest sales volume of any team, a result built on what they describe as a division of strengths. “We understand each other's nuances and play to our individual strengths while sharing key learnings,” says Suzanne. “It’s what makes the partnership work.”

For Patrick, the reward is less about the numbers and more about what they represent. “There’s a huge sense of satisfaction when you navigate a difficult deal and make it part of your success story.”

Among their standout transactions was the sale of 304 and 306 Jervois Road, two side-by-side Ponsonby homes sold to the same buyer via NZSIR’s international referral network. A genuinely rare result that speaks to the reach of the brand as well as the skill of the agents.

“Patrick and Suzanne represent exactly the kind of partnership we love to see flourish within NZSIR,” say Co-Founders Julian Brown and Mark Harris. “Their results speak for themselves, and their commitment to their clients is evident in everything they do.”

Top 3 National Performers

Joining Patrick and Suzanne in the top three national performers were two teams for whom 2025 was equally exceptional.

In second place, Team Alty of Wanaka. Sheryl and Guy, along with their wider team, have built a reputation for consistent performance, strong culture, and the ability to deliver results at scale. They are a leading force within the brand and Central Otago.

In third place was Team Fiona Horne of Havelock North, a team that operates with a winning formula of sharp strategy, relentless determination and an exceptional work ethic, delivering one of their strongest years yet.

Top Sales of 2025

Significant sales spanned the country and ranged from the remarkable to the historic: Hawke's Bay's highest-ever apartment sale, a Cromwell district record and a Nelson suburb record beaten by over $1 million. Each one a different story, the same standard of excellence.

The top three residential sales by value were:

  • 1st: Brunswick Street, Queenstown - listed by Myles Green and Mark Harris with the buyer introduced by Melanie Rogers and Dave Fea. Taken to market discreetly, the property sold before a planned international tender campaign even launched.
  • 2nd: 336 Te Hapu Road, Westhaven Retreat, Nelson - sold by Karyn van Engelbrechten, becoming the second-highest regional sale ever on record and drawing interest from Hong Kong, Spain, Europe, and New Zealand.
  • 3rd: 10 Nathanael Place, Drift Bay, Queenstown - sold by Matt Finnigan, Russell Reddell to a Singaporean client.

Platinum Achievers: $1M+ GCI in 2025

The Platinum tier represents our very best. This year that group included a first-year partnership that hit the ground running, a Queenstown team who are single-handedly pushing the price ceiling in Central Otago's wine country, and names that have been at the top of this network for years.

  • John and Michelle van Lienen, Manawatu
  • Kristen Gould Collective, Hamilton
  • Natalie Newton, Auckland North
  • Pene Milne, Ponsonby
