I have always had a great interest in the health and well being of people, so it came as no surprise that I chose Real Estate as my long term career in 1987. Prior to this I was involved in the aviation industry as a Commercial Pilot, and earlier still in the hospitality sector. I started my adult working life on Norfolk Island and moved to Sydney in the 1970s. After a 2 year stint working in Hotel security in Kings Cross, i moved to Manly and trained as a seafood chef. This culminated in the chance to set up and lead a team of likeminded foodies in what soon became an iconic seafood eatery near Palm Beach. In 1987 I left hospitality and aviation behind and began my Real Estate career with an American company in their high performing Mosman office. We sat at number one within their Australasian group of 250 offices for auction sales, so a great learning ground amongst some wonderful and highly skilled people. I like to think of myself as a creative person with a great love of the English language, so Real Estate seemed to be the perfect fit. I love the challenge of finding the most emotive and inciteful words to create a powerful word picture, conveying the true essence of a home to the reader. I will often work late into the night until I am convinced I have the marketing word perfect. My clients deserve this. It is the greatest privilege to be invited into a clients personal space and given free reign to market and sell their home. These are the moments I live for, when one moment you are a total stranger and the next you become great friends. This comes about for the simple reason you have shown the client how much you care through the work you do, and the time spent together. I have been working in the Wellington and Kapiti Real Estate market since 1993. I grew up in Raumati Beach and it is so good to be working here and sharing of myself in a way that makes the home selling journey fun, enjoyable and most of all an experience to remember.
