Steve Carlin hasn’t looked back since eschewing the bright lights of Wellington in favour of Greytown’s more relaxed lifestyle. A seasoned, in-demand entertainer who has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in New Zealand show business, Steve moved to the beautiful South Wairarapa eight years ago to enjoy the lifestyle and attributes that only a smaller rural community can offer. After 25 years of touring and belting out classics from the swing era at corporate events, conferences, weddings and festivals, he was ready to settle into a smaller community environment more reminiscent of his hometown in the Bay of Plenty. Steve’s career not only includes music but an array of professional roles. From teaching English as a second language through to working in property management, tenant relationship management, managing portfolio finances, overseeing operations and project management. He has a wide and relevant range of experience. From his unshakeable work ethic, his strong attention to detail, sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters and empathy towards and understanding of people from all cultures, this diverse background has equipped him with an impressive array of skills he can utilise to succeed in his new real estate career. “I enjoy dealing with people and being out and about in the community. My background is completely service related, beginning with a close understanding of what people need and delivering results based on that,” he says. Steve also has plenty to keep him active in his leisure time – an avid All Whites fan and a keen former universities representative footballer himself, he is also helping to coach the Skills Centre programme for the Greytown Junior FC. However, the former cabaret crooner hasn’t stepped away from his microphone completely, as he intends to continue pursuing music as a passion, so look for him on a stage near you or call him if you are considering bringing your home to market.
