An awesome, breathtakingly beautiful and historic, holiday destination where you wake up every day with an amazing choice of what to do next!
This stylish holiday home in Opononi, capable of accommodating all the family, friends and boat, is the perfect base to explore the wonders of this region. Go sandboarding or horse trekking on the magnificent golden sand dunes; hike along the many bush and coastal trails; launch the boat at the nearby ramps for an abundance of fish, crays and scallops. Stroll the beaches out to South Head and watch the spectacular Tasman Sea currents meeting the waters of the Hokianga harbour; explore the rock pools and swim in crystal clear waters.
Others may wish to laze on the dress-circle decks with their panoramic stunning water views of the harbour, enjoy a book and watch the wading birds on the beach below. At night relax in the stillness and stargaze or take in a special encounter in the Waipoua Forest, the home of Tane Mahuta, the country's largest Kauri tree.
Local Maori cultural experiences, art trails, craft shops and cafes here and in nearby Rawene will also fill their days.
The two level contemporary living in a central location is geared to enjoy year round holidays in the "winterless north". The open plan living flows onto wide decks; upstairs there are two double bedrooms; downstairs a further two spacious bedrooms that open out onto a quiet garden deck. There's a very large storeroom with laundry for all the water toys, camping gear and fishing rods; off street parking for three or four cars and the boat. What more could you want?
At holidays end, it's a quick lock up and leave and head back to the city. Everyone will feel invigorated from their action packed holidays and all will be keen to return before too long.
